The Weekend...

Mike Lindsay and our friend, Alan, ended up going home with each other this weekend, as well as the other people here I'm Buddy-Buddy with, so it's been a bit of a drag.

I ended up working 4-8 Friday night, which was alright. I met a girl named Amber who reminds me a lot of Julia Barnes, but blond...it's kinda scary, really (especially when she randomly walks up to me and starts off a conversation by asking me if I'm an expert on vaginas).

After work, I ended up going to the apartments west of campus where Liz and Kristen live. Mike Lindsay and I usually go there to hang out (I just end up puking in their toilet...), but they told me to come right on over, which was nice. I ended up watching 'A Guy Thing' with them. Kristen and her boyfriend ended up going to bed a little before 12. Liz and I ended up staying up talking to each other (and the guy who ended up drunk dialing her for an hour) until 3:30. Walked back, got in bed, fell asleep at 4.

...THEN I GOT UP TO WORK AT 9! Yeah...I wanted to fall asleep a lot during that shift.

I got back around 2 and started on my paper for Freshman Comp. Not another Zombie paper, but I am stealing one of my not_chrie_2001 rants and expanding upon it. I'm just a little worried that when I submit it to Turnitin.com, it'll say that I plagiarized someone's work. Oh well, I'll risk it...

I was supposed to go to Rocky Horror with people, but the people bailed I ended up not going. I might go at midnight if I can find someone to join me. I'm in a Time Warp mood tonight.

I ended up randomly visiting with a person Mike Lindsay and Alan know down in the lower level of Woldt. I also met her roommate...Nicole...who is undergoing EMT training.

Wierd...

Now, I'm in the Computer Lab again. I exceeded my 5GB Network Quota again. I'm not even sure how I managed it. But I did...so I'm internetless until 12AM Sunday. How will I manage!?

4AM...

So, I managed to come back to the room about midnight and tried to fall asleep. I finally managed about 1AM. Last night, I refused to go out with my friends because I haven't slept in in weeks and normally getting 6 hours or less of it gets to you at times. I slept peacefully when I did manage to fall asleep.

That is until my roommate came back at 4AM...with his buddies from back home. 4 of them, to be exact. I'm not gonna lie; I wasn't really all that mad about it. Yes, they were obnoxiously loud, and I did want to be an asshole about it, but I couldn't find it in me to act that way. They ended up having the same crisis I had last month with Miss October being much younger than them, which I found rather amusing.

I tried to fall back asleep, but that failed miserably, so I ended up putting on my shoes and leaving. The rest of them were just chilling in the living room, watching a horribly sloppy blowjob scene between "a professor and two schoolgirl" with such awe-inspiring dialogue as, "share the lollipop."

So where did I end up going? Why, my second home, of course. MCDONALDS! I ended up getting a Breakfast Burrito and a Sausage McMuffin, talked to the managers, and left.

I got back to the room and at 5AM, they called it a night. I had a fun little chat with Mike about what it means to be a douche and do douchy things and how we shouldn't bring loud, drunken guests home AT FOUR IN THE MORNING!!!

Like I said, I'm really not mad right now. This does, however, mean that he's susceptible to any means of justified revenge as I so please. ^_^

Fun with Numbers, History, and English...

To remember the first 16 digits of the mathematical constant, e, my Aunt in Tennessee taught me this:

Andrew Jackson, our 7th president served 2 terms:

[e = 2.7]

Andrew Jackson started his first term in 1828:

[e = 2.71828]

Aww, heck. He served two terms...LET'S JUST PUT 1828 TWICE:

[e = 2.718281828]

And that, my friends, is right. One could even say it's as right as...oh, I don't know...a RIGHT TRIANGLE, also known as a 45-90-45 Triangle:

[e = 2.718281828459045]

(Yes, math geekiness runs in parts of the family on my mom's side. That same Aunt was married on Pi Day (3/14))
---

For those who aren't a fan of history, you can try mnemonics for Pi, a concept known as Piphilology. Focus on the amount of letters in each word:

"Can I have a large container of coffee? Thank you."

Counting the number of letters in each word, you wind up with 3.141592653

Fun, right? What? You don't appreciate it? Well, at least this guy named Peter M. Brigham had a sense of humor when he came up with his...

"How I wish I could enumerate pi easily, since all these bullshit mnemonics prevent recalling any of pi's sequence more simply."

[3.14159265358979323846]

It could just be the insanity creeping in, but I find it fun! ^____^

Pissed - Part Two...

Oh, this turned out just DANDY!

So, in the last two weeks, I've worked a total of 24 hours, which would add up to approximately $14o after taxes. Last night, I figured I'd only see about $80-some dollars of it. Oh no. Not at all.

I went to pick up my check, ready to throw a fit at the sight of only getting 14 hours worth of pay. I opened it up...IT SAID I ONLY WORKED FIVE AND A HALF HOURS!!!!

Grand total of my check: $33.27

There's a bit of difference between $140, $80, and $33.27, so I immediately talked to the store manager about the situation. He explained to me how payroll was done differently at this store. He told me that unlike my store, which does payroll three days before the checks come out, payroll is done one full week before checks are sent out. In other words, I won't see any of the money that I earned last week for another two weeks from today.

And, as far as the adding of that shift that never got entered goes, nobody entered it in for me, even though I asked two of the store managers to go and do it...TWICE!!!

Pardon my language, but their incompetency at that store is fucking bullshit!

I'm leaving McDonald's the first chance I get.

Pissed...

Technically, I'm pissed at the fact that I will MORE THAN LIKELY be pissed off. Funny how that works out...

McDonald's here has managed to screw me over in a very heinous fashion. The first thing that got to me was the fact that they did their scheduling for the next week earlier than they usually do by two days, so I was unable to ask for Ashley's birthday off. I'm pretty much going to end up getting out at 2, driving straight there, say 'Happy Birthday', and drive back. Not really how I want to spend Sunday.

The thing that's potentially pissing me off is the fact that they fucked up my hours. The had me starting the day before payroll started, so I never got the money for the first day I worked (5 hours). Another thing was that these people told me to clock in a way that doesn't even register on their computers, so I apparently didn't work my second shift, either (another 5 hours).

To sum it all up, I'm supposed to have 24 hours on this check, but I'll prolly only have 14. So, who's gonna have to bitch about $72 not being paid his way? MEEEEE!!!

I'm trying VERY HARD to find a new job.

Tonight and the Weekend...

Tonight was a blast. I ended up going to see One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest at the Methodist Ministry with some friends. We have decided that Thursday night is going to be our routine movie night. It's cool we found something we all really enjoy to do together.

Next week: Memento! WOO!!!

Right now, I have an exam in a class I rarely go to to study for. At least this math class I'm not bombing! Although, I only got a C- on the Calc2 exam, but the professor is letting us do extra credit for it, since EVERYONE ELSE (besides the few people, like my other roommate, Kevin, who managed to get 100% on it...grrr....), which will end up being 25% extra, bringing me to an A! WOO!!!

And I plan on skipping Calc3 next semester. I'll wait until Mike Lindsey---

[Ok, I'm changing this up from now on. The cool roommate's name is Mike Lindsey and will be referred to as that from now on, instead of 'my roommate'. Kevin and Pat are cool...but I don't hang with them, so I don't expect you to remember them...]

---takes the class. Instead, I'm taking a DIFFERENT math class.

Next weekend, I'm coming home, again. This time, however, it's going to be for Ashley's 23rd birthday. Jeez...she seems so old, now. I'll prolly be coming into Greenville Saturday, although Dad and Ashley'll be up in Traverse City that day....SO I'LL HAVE THE HOUSE TO MYSELF! WOOOO!!!!

So...for the weekend:

Calc2 Exam Corrections
Calc2 - 11.2
BIO - Blackboard Assignment
Cinema - Choose 1970's movie for Analysis Paper
Work Friday
Work Saturday
Work Sunday
Catch 'em All?

Not Gonna Lie...

I've been rethinking what I want to do for my major/minor. I started out Math/Stat, then I had a really bad day and casted off math...then I got sucked back into it.

Now, since I NEED a minor to go with my special double major (yeah, kinda lame...), I've picked not one, but TWO minors.

Current Mindset: Math/Stat Major with History/PoliSci Minor!

AAWWWWWW YEEAAAAH!!!

[Oh, and I kinda just realized that I had ALREADY taken CALC2! Yeah, that year at MCC counted for both Calc1 and 2. If I would've known that, though, I would've went into Calc3 and gotten raped. So, I guess it's alright that this just counts as a no-credit repeat.]

Fun...

The people I hang around with here are freaking awesome! I ended up getting bored and organizing a group to go out and walk to the store at 9:45PM. This time, we ended up walking to Target, which is only two blocks away. It was closing time, so we had to find everything fast. I was looking for some chips called Red Hot Blues that James always bought...but nobody seems to have them here...although, asking clerks where the chips are and sounding really high is funny.

Did you know there's Halloween themed Jones Sodas out right now? It's strange...

Ended up leaving with This is Spinal Tap, which turned out to be a pretty good movie. After buying it, we walked to Coldstone to get some ice cream. We were just standing in there casually...and the song 'Shout' came on. My roommate, Mike, and his friend Alan started dancing uncontrollable, which was more like flailing around/having an epileptic seizure. It was pretty epic; I'm not gonna lie.

After the movie, Mike and I were planning on going to bed, but we were still kinda bored, so we left the room, walked down the hall, saw nobody was up, so we went back to the room. We were planning on going to bed AGAIN, but we heard it started raining.

So what better thing to do than run outside and play in it at midnight?

We didn't feel like complete idiots. There were three girls from 2nd floor that had already beat us out there, so we decided to join them in playing in puddles, thus looking like a large group of idiots and not caring.

Then drying off...then bed, finally...

How to Spot a Zombie...

My paper is done!!! Oh god, I hope my teacher loves satire!

That, or I'll show her for making the paper open-ended...

Back in Greenville...

Seeing people at McD's;

walking through the High School;

talking to Radcliffe, Mrs. Willard, Nikki, and Chapman;

having to drive Sean back home after he ran back to the high school from his house after locking
himself out, along with the keys to the van (...yeah, smooth);

seeing familiar faces with confused looks on them as to why I'm back;

working crew (oh god, how I've missed it sooo much!);

dinner at Mancino's with Dad, Ashley, Akasha, and Grandma;

going to football games;

actually enjoying spending time with people I don't see very much nowadays;

and, of course, being tormented and made fun of for various reasons (Oh, strange how I love it so...)

Thanks everyone, you people made my night awesome.

Good/Bad Day...

Today started off terrible. Absolutely dreadful, in fact. I know for a fact that I completely bombed my Calc2 exam. I also ended up looking at what I have in the class beforehand...75%. I have a fscking C in a subject I plan on majoring in, even before the exam that I prolly got a D on. I can remove some frustration with the fact that Calc2 is allegedly the toughest of the four Calculus classes.

But it still upsets me.

We ended up watching a John Wayne film in Cinema class today. It was pretty good, even if I don't care for Western flicks at all. After that, I went to my Bio lab. I swear, there is something wrong with that teacher. The lady who teaches the class definitely has something wrong with her. She's monotone, quiet, and always unaware of the fact that there are things going on around her (like she'll present something while nobody is paying attention and continues to keep talking - of course, it's only her job to teach, not to make people listen, but she does absolutely nothing to try and battle it, as if it's not even taking place).

The best thing that happened today was the fact that I've been out with my roommate and friend since 7PM. Where did we go? Why, to a Methodist Ministry, of course! They were playing Mr. Smith Goes To Washington in there. Let me tell you, it's an awesome, feel-good movie. It was sooooo awesome!!!! Best part is, they play a movie every Thursday. Next week is One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, and the week after is Memento.

That does it! I'M GOING TO CHURCH ON A WEEKLY BASIS FOR NOW ON!!!

Afterwards, we ended up walking because we didn't want to go back to the room, so we walked...and walked...and walked...and sang Maxwell's Silver Hammer, White Christmas, Journey...and walked...and finally, we wound up at Meijer about a mile away from campus.

I bought Krispy Kreme's! ^_^

On the way back, we had really fun debates about views on society, such as my usual, "I hate people; I like PERSONS" spiel, and how I believe that there is someone self-righteous enough to stick to their beliefs no matter the obstacle.

I'm certainly not it (really, I'm not), but in all my general hatred of mankind, I like to believe that there's one pure soul out there who has the integrity to follow a path of what they think is right compared to what is easy.

The Week...

Sunday was lame. I generally felt like shit the entire day and spent a lot of the day just sitting back and playing Pokemon. You really can't go wrong there, though. I mean, catching them all really puts life into perspective for you.

Today started out as a rainy day with a touch of anarchy. One of the things I HATE about dorm life is the fact that I am the first one up and I have only had a few opportunities to shower with hot water, since my room is basically the farthest away from the water heater. It's pretty much the worst way to wake up in the morning. Most days, I'll just stick my head under the shower head, get it wet, put some shampoo in, lather, rinse, and call it good.

Actually, in retrospect, not much happened today that's remotely worth mentioning. I reviewed for my two exams this week and that's about it. Lame.

Friday, I'm skipping Freshman Comp to come to Greenville early. I'm really pumped, mainly because I get to wander the halls (prolly have one of them 'ZOMG! I USED TO GO HERE! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT...WONDER IF MY COMBINATION STILL WORKS?' moments) and see Radman and Chapman. Hopefully, Mr. Radcliffe doesn't have a class 6th hr...can someone check that for me?

Working for the weekend, prolly doing some more of nothing, and heading back here. Sounds boring, but it's fun to come back to Greenville...

[WOW, I see I missing out on drama back at the High School...]
