The Waterford Experience (Friday)...

This weekend, I took a trip down to Waterford, down near Detroit, to see my friends from college, Alan, Sam, and Mike Lindsay.

MOST RANDOM. WEEKEND. EVER. (note: may be going slightly overboard with that...but it was still pretty random)

I didn't take this journey alone. Oh, no. I got five hours of company round-trip from Brittney, a girl I graduated with/ dated my peer mentor at school, Chris, for the last three years. The random part is that I've barely said a word to Brittney since MIDDLE SCHOOL. I talked to her one of the first times in forever last week, told her I was going Detroit-way, and before I knew it I had a passenger. She was going to hang out with a guy from college for the weekend. Brittney's a cool person, definitely someone I would've hung out with more if we had classes together. We managed to find stuff to talk about the way there and back, so I was happy that it wasn't an awkward car ride.

Got to Waterford about 2pm Friday afternoon. Mike has me meet a group of people at a Panera in town. So, I find my way through Waterford, which is a bit bigger than I expected, and get to their regular hangout spot. It was Mike, Alan, and a bunch of other guys playing a board game. I got myself a blueberry bagel...and was disappointed in that:

1) Bagels cost 99 cents/Cream Cheese costs $1.19 (BULLSHIT!)
2) The bagel sucked. Panera is overrated!

Mike buys a whole French baguette and all of us take off for a open soccer field. We end up playing Ultimate Frisbee, which I had never played before. We all decided to play in our boxers, also. Why? Dunno. We just did. It was a hell of a lot of fun, though!

Afterwards, we end up eating dinner at Alan's, pick up Sam, and head out to Royal Oak. Now, Royal Oak is a city by Waterford where these young hooligan friends of mine go to get drunk and enjoy myself. If you took all the fun elements of Grand Rapids and put them on one single street, you'd basically have Royal Oak.

We start off drinking from water bottles filled with vodka and whiskey in a hardware store back parking lot, like all classy people do. The next thing to do was visit The Aquarium Shop, an exotic fish pet store. We browsed inside for a while, looking at all the cool, colorful fishies and whatnot. After that: Barnes and Noble. The store was gigantic! We ended up drinking a bit more, going into the philosophy section, picking out books, sitting down, reading said books, and then discussing why that particular philosopher was a total badass.

We ended up going to a Hot Topic-type location. They had a bunch of leather coats that looked really good. I really want a black one. I'm feeling it's about time I retire my brown coat. It's getting pretty worn out and--- uh oh...that's right; this is the point when stuff gets...

I really didn't drink all that much, but it ended up hitting me hard as hell. From here, we met up with a friend of ours from Central who lived nearby, and we eventually ran into more of Mike and Alan's friends. For about an hour, shit is nonexistent in my mind. I don't even remember 10pm - 11pm AT ALL. We somehow wound up at a Sushi restaurant. I feel sick at this point, and just lie on the table while everyone eats and watches the Pistons play. Mike makes me walk to my car to stay active. We sing merry songs and talk about things like girls and our sophomore year to keep me alive. We reach my car and just listen to music. I kinda...sorta...throw up in YET ANOTHER parking lot (adds to list).

After a while, we head out to the movie theater nearby and watch a midnight showing of This Is Spinal Tap. It was a really fun time.

---(I just remembered what happened between 10 and 11. haha...nothing important, though)---

After that, we headed to a Coney restaurant, then back to Waterford and crashed at Mike Lindsay's.

*too tired to finish; will complete tomorrow*
