Credit Hour Blues...

NEW RANT: CLICK HERE

Today in my CPS Lab, I had my homework finished early. Instead of working on other stuff, I decided to calculate the credit hours that I'll obtain after completing all of my required classes.

After passing my classes this semester, I will have 57 credit hours. To graduate, I'll need 124. Unfortunately, after taking the university's required courses, my degree's required courses, and the courses for my majors, I'll only have 119 credit hours.

A bizarre phenomenon if you look at it from the standpoint that I'll be graduating with THREE majors, but Double Counting has become a double-edged sword. Double Counting is a good concept that's allowed within my majors to a certain extent, where I can take one class and it counts for both majors. However, my majors are so interrelated, that I've figured that after I take all of my Actuarial Science courses, I'll only have to take 4 more Math courses and only 1 Statistics course to finish off those majors.

In the end, I'll be spending my final semester at CMU taking courses like Bowling, Billiards, and Advanced Calculus I.

EDIT: 2 Credit Hours, actually!!!

When homework's got you down...

So, what do you do when you've been doing homework for seven straight hours for ONE SUBJECT and there appears to be no end in site?

Why, Cran-Grape spiked, of course!

My stats class is gonna turn me into an alcoholic if this shit keeps up...

Lack of 'Life Experiences'...

It's been a pretty bland week. I've either been at work cooking food or at Pearce Labs writing programs for my STA575 class. There was a birthday party that was a lot of fun... that I hear I missed out on, because I was back home.

It's really been hard trying to balance work and play this semester. I'm never really around anymore, and, when I am, everybody is already off doing stuff (usually activities that I wouldn't touch with a 50ft pole...).

Hopefully this week is better than the last one.

Shoes and Homework...

Saturday, I spent my afternoon doing homework that I had. I was waiting for an assignment to be given to us on Blackboard, but it never showed up, so I proceeded to do my other work. Two hours later, I was all set and I went on with my evening.

I planned on just having a boring night. Mike and Alan had Waterford people up, so they went to a party. Mike actually ditched them after a bit of a tiff with the group, and so we ended up hanging out and talking. We actually haven't had a good opportunity to do so this year, so it felt good to spend time with him. One of the best parts of the night was Mike Lindsay 'retiring' his old pair of Chucks, which led to us taking his shoes outside with a mob of people, and talking about them for a few moments. With rain. Good times...

And NOW I've found out that the assignment that I was waiting for WAS given out already! HW2 was, for some UNGODLY REASON, sent out in an email titled, 'HW1', which was promptly deleted when I assumed it was stating that grades for the previous assignment were posted.

So, my evening now consists of working from 1:30-7, then working in the Statistics Lab in the Math Building for about 2-3 hours.

Joy.

Oh God...

My roommate walked out of our main room and into the room next to it, where I was working. He laid down on his bed, and started mumbling sentences. When I would ask him to repeat it, he would just say, "Oh, nothing." After a few minutes of lying down, he asked me where everybody else was. They were obviously still in the other room where he was moments before, so I told him that. He then shrugged it off and continued his mumbling.

Acid gives its users the brain capacity of an Alzheimer's victim...and that scares the shit out of me...

"Cut the crap, Hamlet...

My biological clock is ticking, and I want a baby NOW!"

Shakespeare Abridged was AMAZING! I was a little afraid I wouldn't enjoy it, since I didn't know much Shakespeare past Hamlet, R&J, and Julius Caesar, but I absolutely loved it.

And I got my first check from McD's today! TWENTY DOLLARS! Best check ever!

Now, I just need to figure out when I'm signing my majors...
