2008: The Retrospect

So, I missed out on posting 'Martin Sargent's Tale of the Magic Christmas Quilts' this Christmas, but that won't stop me from trying to do my retrospect. I really wish I wouldn't have let myself limit my blogging as much as I did. This is going to be kinda tricky, considering there's stuff I'm not going to remember.

So, without further ado...2008:

---

- The Great Shed Adventure

- Finally realizing that CMU>Greenville

- Roommate leaves without telling us. Takes TV with him. Asshole.

- First night back at Central, stayed the night at a girl's apartment. Signs of a good start to the semester.

- ...Unfortunately, I leave my wallet there, along with my meal card, and I'm unable to retrieve it for a while. Signs that the universe likes to keep itself balanced.

- Hang out at Cat's apartment, get a knock on the door from a REALLY drunk girl named Bridget at 3am. She's out in the cold in a miniskirt. I take her back to her room on campus. Fun random night.

- Having math courses sucks...AND THAT'S COMING FROM A MATH MAJOR!

- More Wesley Movie Night fun.

- My roommate Alan and Sam Hess, a girl he knew from school, and I hang out and discuss religious beliefs and establishing a cult.

- Mike Lindsay comes to Greenville with me to see Districts. He's found to be "like Chris Coston, but better." >_<

- The First Church of Michael Lindsay established

- Becky, Mike Lindsay, and myself at Meijer, buying Free Willy and talking to Nick

- Saw Juno with Alan and Sam. Awesome!

- Pancakes and Porn... gotta love the fact that the novelty shop in Mt. Pleasant is right next to IHOP

- Found the best Date Movie to be The Re-Animator

- [Scene: Mike and my room. We both wake up roughly the same time]
Mike: Ugh...
Me: Hi, Mike Lindsay!
Mike: Oh, hey, Chris...
???: Hi, Mike Lindsay!
Mike: ...wait? SAM?!

[Followed by Mike Lindsay leaving to get food. Comes back to see a sock on the door]
Mike: SON OF A BITCH!
[Nothing happened, but I wanted to hear his reaction... ^_^ ]

- Played a card game called Bang! and spent the next 10+ months trying to find it at different stores I go to.

- Sibs Weekend: Trever comes and spends a couple days at CMU. He exploited his cuteness to get my friend Nichole to see Rambo with us. He enjoyed innocent people blowing up.

- Locked my keys in my car. James had to drive up from Greenville to get me my spare set.

- Shannon comes up to see Mike Lindsay. A lot.

- 19th birthday! How to celebrate? GOING TO TORONTO WITH JAMES! Bars, zombie musicals, Second City, and James throwing up on himself...good times...

- ...But not before having to drive to CMU with Nikki to get my birth certificate. Then, Nikki explains to my roommate, Pat, why I enjoy her company over Sam's...

- Losing at Padiddle...while driving.

- Slowly realizing I'm not going to be a teen in 2009...

- Speeding Ticket. ;_;

- James comes up to hang out. He sleeps on my couch, I sleep in an entirely different building.

- Tried a cigarette. It was Clove (aka DISGUSTING)

- Wesley makes me a belated birthday cake. Not knowing about it, I didn't go. I hear it was good, though...

- Pulp becomes one of my favorite bands, even though they are rather silly.

- TJ and Kayla come up to Central to hang out. Kayla passes out, everybody freaks, TJ and I think, "Oh, not again..."

- "TJ's a bit of a dick, but he's a cool dick. So pretty much he's only a douchebag." - Shubes, drunk

- Grilling hot dogs for people on our floor. Good stuff. Especially when I had to run to McD's and borrow tongs.

- Change in character: Pushover, to...well, I'm still a pushover, just more of a dick, now.

- First time tailgating...not during a REAL football game. Managers from work giving me and my roommates drinks is still one of the coolest things to happen that semester.

- Teacher: "...now, Carter was our president during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. We had 53 hostages at the U.S. Embassy, taken over by a few hundred Iranian students. If you guys were Carter, what would you do first?"

Me: "GROW PEANUTS!"

Alan: *raises hand* I'd have a big, sweet Black Hawk helicopter full of Special Forces agents land it on top of the building and raid the Embassy! It'd be so awesome!

- Different Drunken escapades

- SHEPARD MAPLE SYRUP FESTIVAL!

- Wisdom teeth pulled. Funny, we listened to The Beatles on the way there and back; the way there was all the drug-related songs, and on the way back while I'm still loopy, it's all the innocent songs...

- Car has problems, needs fixin'

- Weekend in Waterford: Best Weekend Ever

- "So, my mom's planning on buying drinks for us if one of us blows into her PBT."

- MCC English class....what a joke...

- What to do when the parents are away? Invite TJ and Nikki over for drinks and strip pool!

- TJ: *picks up paper bag* What's in this bag?

Me: I think Green Tea.

TJ: Ugh. That stuff tastes like grass.

Me: There's other types of teas in there, too, though...

TJ: OOOH! *dumps contents of the bag on the ground*

Me: ...and tacks. *tacks scatter across the floor* ...in fact, I think I threw all the tea away. Sorry.

- Becoming, as my dad put it, a scumbag who takes innocent girls into his basement

- Michigan's Adventure trip with people I don't really associate with. A bit weird.

- Started getting sick MUCH MORE FREQUENTLY

- Ibuprofen + empty stomach = Dad going into work for me for a couple hours while my insides feel like they are tearing apart

- Mt. Pleasant Trip: Introduction of BEAR JAIL

- Trip to Muskegon to go to a drive-in theater.

- Cooking w/ Grandma: NO-BAKES!

- Stepmom is pregnant...again...

- $6000 Scholarship. College becomes slightly easier to afford.

- Sophomore year.

- Shakespeare Abridged: The only way to handle early English literature

- Signing my TRIPLE MAJOR

- Mike Lindsay on chemicals = scary

- Mike Lindsay's Shoe Burial

- Too much homework to go out this semester. ;_;

- The invention of 'Homework Juice'. Just add vodka!

- Three majors, and I still can't complete school without taking ONE random bullshit class

- Shubes drinks himself stupid. I play babysitter

- TJ comes up to Western Weekend, along with Waterford people. Hilarity ensues.

- Six $1000+ hours at McD's for CMU vs. WMU gameday. Ugh...

- Signed our lease for 2009/2010 apartment. Mike Lindsay owes me $100 still.

- Amount of posts on blog drops to about 3 per month.

- Fixed two computers since I've been home

- Let The Right One In: Weird vampire flick

- Coolest Christmas Present: TUPPERWARE w/ SCREW-ON LIDS!!!

And that, my friends, was 2008.

Siiick....

Can I go one month without being sick once?!

>_<

Seriously, every month since May, I've felt horrible in one way or another. I think my body hates me, or my immune system went to Acapulco for a long vacation. I hear it's nice there, so I guess I wouldn't blame my White Blood Cells for doing so...

Home...

Ahh...it's as boring as I left it. Seriously, what are people supposed to do here?

I've spent this weekend fixing my dad's computer, setting up stuff to get my laptop to work wirelessly, and working a 6am-3pm. Damn them for scheduling me a longass 9 hour shift on our SLOWEST DAY OF THE WEEK! DAMN THEM!!!

There was also a Christmas party on Saturday, which was alright. Midway through December is the only time we can get the whole Coston family together these days. Anyways, I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a really, really bad thing, but the gift I got that I was most excited about was Twist-Top Tupperware. I ended up only asking for DVD's and kitchen supplies, so it was to be expected, but I really liked it. A lot.

This week: Work, 'Let The Right One In' on Wednesday at 8:30pm (let me know if you wanna come), and maybe 'Milk'.

OH! And what the fuck is with Christmas being next Thursday?! I didn't realize it was so close!

Semester's End...

Oh man, this came up way too fast.

Ok, that's kinda a lie. I've been back and forth on this issue for a while. While I'm ready to be done with all of my classes. They haven't been overly difficult, just a bit tedious. Two main things I'm not looking forward to is going back to Greenville and my roommate, Shubes, leaving for Georgia during break and not coming back 'til the Fall.

We'll prolly end up getting a new roommate. It's gonna be weird, I think, but we'll see how it unfolds.

Well, at least I'll have time to hang out with people when I get back. James and I have already planned on going to GR and seeing a Swedish independent vampire film, which seems like an interesting concept.

Well, onto studying for Finals.
