The Waterford Experience (Saturday and Sunday)...
*continuing from previous post*
So, I finally fell asleep on Mike Lindsay's couch about 3 in the morning. I had to lay on my side, just in case I'd end up leaving Earth like a rockstar by choking on my own vomit. I got a good night's rest...
That is, until 7 in the morning, when Mike's parents, sister, and dog ALL WOKE ME UP! They are some of the noisiest morning people EVER! I managed to not attract attention, slept until 9, sat up, felt dizzy, and went back to sleep until 11, when Mike got up and we watched The Replacements. Soon after, we headed to Panera to play Apples to Apples with Alan, Sam, and Sam's boyfriend, Greg.
Greg was....interesting? He was really nice and quiet, but seemed like one of those kids who smoked himself stupid back in high school. I found myself questioning here and there where exactly his mind was...
Anyways, I was hungover terribly at Panera. I was a zombie throughout most of the game. Ended up throwing up in the bathroom, trying to get it out of my system. No dice. Finished Apples, then left for the video store. Picked up Amelie and decided to watch it at Mike's house.
Before we left Family Video, we got a call from Sam's mom. We were standing in the parking lot waiting for her to finish. Sam then put her hand on the speaker of her phone and asked us, "So, my mom's planning on buying drinks for us if one of us blows into her PBT."
...so, we ended up getting Captain Morgan and Parrot Bay. I didn't have any, though. Still feeling it, even later in the day. We watch Amelie before going to Sam's house. FSCKING AMAZING FILM!!! The French are actually pretty cool.........kinda...
Anyways, off to Sam's we go. We hang out with Sam's mom, who provides alcohol and burnt bratwursts. They were actually kinda tasty. The mom was sloshed, but it didn't really matter. She ended up drinking with us for a bit.
More people started to show up randomly: Sam's friend, Sam's brother, Sam's cousin, and some 25 year old black guy who nobody really knew at all. The black guy was a bit weird, but this didn't really stop Mike from having a drunken conversation with him about the guy's background. I still have no idea what he was talking about, AND I WAS SOBER!
Alan and I thought it may be best to leave, considering how the party was winding down a bit there. So Alan decides it'd be best to go walk to this kid, Jeff's house. Alan, Sam, Mike, Greg, and I all left the house and walked there. Unfortunately, Mike was playing leader, which took us an hour and ten minutes to get there. Having to put up with a drunken Mike for that long is a bit much to handle, especially when he talks about surviving in the wilderness with potatoes and beans.
We get to Jeff's house, even though he has no clue we are coming. We just chill with his dad while we wait for Jeff to get home from work. Alan and Mike were quite acquainted with the dad, though, having smoked pot with him and his son the week before (I've learned that families in Waterford are quite different from those I know back in Greenville...). When Jeff did get home, we all eventually migrated into his basement with some other friends Jeff brought home. The smoky basement is pretty much what you'd expect from the person-to-person camera shots from That 70's Show. It was my first time really being around a bunch of people smoking pot. Still won't try it, but Mike was toasted by the time we left.
Alan stayed back, so it was just Mike, Sam, Greg, and I when we left. Sam took lead, knowing an actual shortcut that cut the walking distance to a half hour. Mike was even more ridiculous than usual, which was to be expected. We got to Sam's house, and Mike and I left to this place called "Village Place". It was about midnight at the time.
Village Place is this diner that's open 24 hours. It's one of these late-night hotspots for people in Waterford. Anyways, we find a friend of Mike's who I've actually talked on the phone with before (I told him my parents were dead and I was coping with the loss by selling coke to the underprivileged), so we all had a good time reflecting on those better days. We poke fun at Mike for a while, then go back to Mike's house for sleep.
Sunday rolls around, I get up -STILL SICK-, I leave, pick up Brittney, and share to her the story I just told you.
And that, my friends, was the Waterford Experience.
