Muskegon Trip...

Alright, so nothing extremely major happened on my trip. I went there, hung out with three girls that live down the hall from me, one being my 'twin' (born approx. 9 hours before me), went to see The Dark Knight at my first drive-in (which was very cool to watch it like that, although backseats are extremely uncomfortable), slept in a camper, went to the mall, and came home.

Nothing exciting, but it was still fun to see CMU people.

Three weeks to go!!!

Also, I bought a book on Tuesday. Or rather...a three-part comic book compilation of 'Superman: Red Son". I hate Superman, but the premise is pretty cool. The comic asks the question, "what if Superman had landed in Soviet Russia, instead of Kansas?" The entire comic takes a look at historical events and how they would have played out in this alternate reality. I may hate Superman, but I LOVE THE COLD WAR!!!

Back to the Credit Card...

*EXCLUSIVE '1ST FINANCIAL BANK' FINANCIAL UPDATE*

So, to recap from before, in June, I owed $100, which I sent to 1st Financial Bank, my credit card company, via Money Order soon after the bill came in the mail. On July 17th, I got a new bill saying I never paid them for the previous month, totaling to $176 after late fees and the such. I got most of the situation taken care of. I had them waive the late fee, in exchange for paying in full with my checking account.

Now that you've been briefed, here's the fun part:

I went to 1st Financial Bank's website to see how everything was going with the money situation. I checked my summary, only to notice that my balance in my account was "-$100". I don't mean in the sense that I owed $100, still. No, it meant that I had given them an extra $100.

So, I checked my transaction history. On 7/19, I had them take out the money from my checking account, in full, which they did. All $176, minus the late fee. There was, however, a second payment logged in my history, one that took place on July 17th, the day I called. The entry was a payment from me...for $100. I decided to call MoneyGram to check the status of my money order. Sure enough, it had been cashed.

What does this mean? After a month of waiting, my credit card company got my money order and cashed it. How did this happen? Who knows...I just know that I now have $100 to my name on my credit card! WOO!

Mt. Pleasant Trip...

It was fun...even though most of my time there was spent NOT hanging out with Mike Lindsay or Alan.

I get a call from Mike Lindsay at about 4:45pm yesterday afternoon, to which I drive straight to Mt. Pleasant to hang out with him, Alan, Mike Dannenberg, Greg (Two people from Waterford), Shannon, Kristen, and Liz.

I walk into the door of The Apartment, and Mike Lindsay greets me with, "Dude, we just made a video! You gotta watch it! It's called, 'BEAR JAIL'!" At that point, I remembered why I missed these people, and my face lit up like a Christmas tree.

I took a seat and watched a 20 second clip on Greg's camera of Alan and Dannenberg at a bar with a stuffed bear, and then they proceeded to pretend to beat up the bear until the bartender yelled at them to stop. This was then followed up by clips of miniature stuffed animals filmed doing things, like eating a toy hot dog, and walking alongside a fish tank. Stupid, but I was a fan.

We get dinner soon after I get in. Good ol' Little Chef...except it's too early for drunk people at that point, so it's quiet and boring. Afterwards, I stop into McDonald's and say hello to everyone I recognized, which was everybody...

We go back to The Apartment for festivities, we get about five people to come over that I've never met, and craziness ensues. After a while, festivities of a different nature come up at another apartment nearby, so all of my friends go over there. It wasn't my scene and I really didn't want to go, I offered to buy cups and ping-pong balls for beer pong. I walked to 7-11 and had a fun chat with the clerk about church socials and how they need to carry ping-pong balls, as they help with out bible studies. He's a cool guy...

Anyways, after that, I end up crashing in The Apartment until the entrie place becomes empty. After that, I decided to sober up as much as possible, which wasn't too hard considering I drank only a little a few hours prior. I walked to McDonald's, got a parfait, and got my old job back. WOO! More McDonald's for me! Thinking ahead, I told them I couldn't work 6am shifts anymore and got switched to 9am shifts! GO SLEEP!!!

Walking back, I decided to go to the casino, which I needed to anyways, since Dad gave me $20 to blow for him. He lost his money immediately, but I'm able to play my $20 for a while and left the casino up $44! GO ME!

Since sleeping in a muggy car, sleeping in a muggy apartment, and hanging out in a pot-infested apartment did not sound like fun options, I decided to leave Mt. Pleasant at 1am without saying goodbye, except to Shannon, but that's just because she's the only one in the bunch who had a phone on her. It was extremely foggy and I had a death grip on the wheel the entire time, but I made it home in one piece...at 2:30am. I was dead. I crawled in bed and crashed.

And that was my adventure.

Note To Self...

Don't take sinus medicine and ibuprofen together on an empty stomach. I felt like a little alien was going to burst out of my chest.

My dad ended up going in early for me this morning when I started coughing up small amounts of blood and my stomach started hurting. I slept in a couple hours and went into work a little later.

Feel much better now. Still stuffy and my voice sounds all raspy and manly...which I always like when I get a cold...but I'm good.

Heading to Mt. Pleasant as soon as I hear back from friends. Later.

Still Sick...

This cold has got to go. Like, now.

Tomorrow, I'm working 6-2, then, if I'm feeling the least bit better, I'm meeting Mike Lindsay and Alan in Mt. Pleasant for a fun Saturday evening.

WOO! (Maybe...)

Credit Card...

Yesterday, I worked, then hung out with TJ for a few hours. 'Bout it.

Today was one of the last days of my ENGL class. So glad. That class is a freakin' joke. It'll be my last English course I need to take...and I'm rather happy about that fact.

The mail came today. There was even mail for me in it! FOR ME? OH JOY!

Except for the fact that it was a bill for my credit card... I opened it up to expect my $39 bill for what I had bought in the last month. However, the balance was nowhere near $39.

I owed $176.

So, where did this big leap take place? Well, the previous month, I sent out a check for $100. Somewhere in the process of mailing, the letter en route for 1st Financial Bank got forwarded to the infinite void where all lost mail goes (not to be confused with the infinite void where lost things that Ashley touched last go...), thus I got had that carried over to this statement.

But wait, a brilliant mathematician such as myself can figure out that $100+$39 =/= $176. So, where is that difference made up? Why, they gave me a $37 Late Fee, of course!

Bastards...

So, most of the afternoon that wasn't spent with company, was spent developing ulcers and aneurysms calling Customer Service lines, finding out where my check was, driving to Meijer hoping for reimbursement for my $100 money order, only to find that I needed to mail MoneyGram for that, with a $12 Processing Fee, and trying to get my credit card company to waive the Late Fee, only to have to pay everything up until today in full.

I need a smoke...

Ugh...

Sore throat. It put a damper on my plans for today...

Last night was pretty fun. TJ and Becky came over. Although, it was a whole lotta nothing going on. We should've tried fixing my pool table, now that I think about it...

And how come I keep on losing my boxers everytime I have multiple guests over?!

>_>

Jotting It Down Quickly...

Went to Michigan's Adventure. Fun, but would've been better if Nikki, Sean, or Jesse went. Not a whole lot to talk about with people I hardly associate with...

Stopped at the mall in Muskegon and talked to a friend of mine at CMU who works there. Stayed for about an hour and left. I might be going back to Muskegon in a couple weeks for a night to hang out with CMU friends. WOO!

Sunburned. Ew.

Paper. EW. But Done. YAY!

That's...about it. Now, I'm going BACK to work to cover for someone...

Soon...

I plan on going back to the "One-Post-A-Day" thing sometime soon. I'm starting to notice that the quality of the material I write for not only blog posts, but school papers, has dropped since high school, when I decided to go on hiatus from posting daily.

Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

This'll prolly happen sometime in the next week or so, so make sure to check back regularly to get a daily fix of me.

The weekend was pretty fun. I went camping for the Fourth of July weekend with my mom. I was planning on staying the full weekend, but ended up leaving Saturday afternoon, instead. The Great Outdoors gets a bit boring for me. Hanging out with everyone was fun and all, but I'll take my cool basement over a mosquito-infested forest any day of the week.

I managed to get one of my papers done on Saturday. I have three due this week for my English course, which is a bit obnoxious. Ended up going to Walmart with the family to watch the fireworks at Klackle's. After that, I hung out with Julia (is it bad that I consider her "TJ's friend" still and not "my friend"?) for a while and went to bed.

Sunday was devoted to typing up another paper, which took about 2 hours, really. Got some Chinese, and tried to take Madison swimming, but that pretty much ended up being a chore trying to get her into the water...

And now....WORK!

In a quoting mood...

TJ: *picks up paper bag* What's in this bag?

Me: I think Green Tea.

TJ: That stuff sucks.

Me: There's other types of teas in there, too, though...

TJ: OOOH! *dumps contents of the bag on the ground*

Me: ...and tacks. *tacks scatter across the floor* ...in fact, I think I threw all the tea away. Sorry.

Good night, filled with not getting shot by my grandparents, swimming (alone...while TJ and Nikki watched...), clothes stolen from me, McD's drive-thru shenanigans, spooning, and Stumbling.

It would've been nice if I didn't have friends who are afraid of the water/seaweed...

>_>
